The Yogi Adityanath Government is working actively to improve river water levels and conserve mineral resources in Uttar Pradesh with a primary focus on cleaning the Ganga river in the state. This initiative has now been extended to other rivers in the region.

Now on the guidelines of the Mining Department, a comprehensive survey will be conducted to assess the status of minerals in the riverbeds of the Ghaghra and Gomti rivers in Barabanki district, officials here on Monday said .

This survey covers nine areas, including seven along the banks of the Ghaghra River and two along the banks of the Gomti River.

Through this survey, it will be possible to determine what changes have occurred in the condition of minerals located in the river beds in the last few years, and it will also help to determine the need for compensation.

A total area of 47.53 hectares, including 34.91 hectares in the Ghaghra River and 12.62 hectares in the Gomti River, has been identified for the survey.

A survey will be conducted in all these areas under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate, the findings of which will be compiled under the District Survey Report (DSR) of Barabanki.

The Mining Department will engage an agency approved by the National Accreditation Board for Educational Training (NABET) and Quality Council of India (QCI) to carry out this significant task. The selection of the agency is underway, and the allocation of this work will be finalized through the e-tender portal.

In the conditions outlined for agencies conducting the mineral survey, it has been made explicitly clear that the cost for the modification and replenishment study of riverbed minerals in the state is fixed at Rs 14,514 per hectare.

To apply for the tender, interested agencies should use the e-tender portal, and the application period is from October 25 to November 1. The agencies participating in this process will have to deposit Rs 1100 as an application fee, and the EMD of this tender is Rs 14000. To carry out this work, the agency must have at least three years of experience in related work.

After determining all these things, the survey work will be assigned to the agencies, which will follow the rulebook of the Uttar Pradesh government. District Magistrate Barabanki and the Mining Department will be responsible for this process.
